Notes: It is impossible to reproduce this image with pine trees.  For the best picture, park at Lanthwaite Green, and take the footpath southwest, down a lane.  It turns 90 degrees left, through a field, towards Lanthwaite Wood.  The best viewpoint is just before the entrance to the wood.  This scene does not appear elsewhere in Wainwright’s published works.

I took this picture for the first time on 22nd June 2018, a day getting photos of sketches around the Buttermere Valley (see also 23, 191, 385, 210 and 91). In the picture below, Lanthwaite Farm is hidden by the trees.
